Ape Games Makers of Anathema, Bit Top, and Dark Horizons. I like Dark Horizons, who would have thought to cross a giant rat with an alligator. These folks make some great stuff and are worth checking out. Their latest news is the release of the Order of the Stick board game, in conjunction with Giant in the Playground. It was a smash hit at the summer conventions! So do yourself a favor and go to their web site and see for yourself. Go ahead, we’ll be waiting here when you get back.
Black Dragon Press These folks make one of the most innovative role playing systems on the market. They are the makers of DragonStorm. For those of you who live under a rock and haven’t heard of the game, let me enlighten you. This is an RPG that uses cards like a CCG to create characters. People take on the guise of shapeshifting characters. You can be a Unicorn, Dragon, Werewolf, and so on. The cards are all the components needed to create any of the characters, the cards are abilities, spells, equipment, boons, weaknesses, and so on. You really need to check this system out and give it a try. You can even join the Watch and take your characters to conventions and play in tournaments. How cool is that.
